Dyson guarantees

A household appliance like a vacuum cleaner or fan can be a sizeable investment. We want your new machine to work properly for as long as possible. The guarantee it comes with is an important consideration - and a good measure of how much confidence the manufacturer has in its machines.

How do I register my Dyson guarantee?

You can register your guarantee online, by post or by phone. To save time, you'll need the following information about your machine:

  • Serial number (on the machine / registration form that came in the box)
  • Date you purchased the machine (receipt or delivery note, whichever is later)

To register online, please visit www.dyson.com.au/register.

To register by post, please complete and return the guarantee form that came in the box with your Dyson machine.

To register by phone, please call our customer service team on 1800 239 766.

What are the benefits of registering my Dyson guarantee?

When you register your guarantee we'll have your details to hand if you ever need to get in touch. So if you phone our customer service helpline, the Dyson expert you talk to will be able to pull up information about your machine straight away. You can also receive tips and advice on how to get the best out of your Dyson product and be the first to hear the latest news about Dyson technology and inventions.

If you register your guarantee online, you'll get instant confirmation that we've received your details. You'll also be able to post a review of your Dyson machine on our website.

How long are new Dyson machines guaranteed for?

Because of the lengths we go to in development and testing, we have utter confidence in every one of our machines. New Dyson vacuum cleaners and fans are guaranteed for two years.

What is covered by the Dyson guarantee?

Repair or replacement of your Dyson machine (at Dyson's discretion), including all parts and labour. For full information and terms and conditions, please see our terms and conditions.

The Dyson guarantee is in addition to the consumer guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law.

What is not covered by the Dyson guarantee?

There are some circumstances that are not covered by the Dyson guarantee. These include accidental damage, misuse, blockages, use of parts or accessories that are not Dyson genuine parts and repairs or alterations carried out by parties other than Dyson or its authorised agents. What are refurbished machines?

This is a Dyson appliance which we have refurbished using genuine Dyson parts (which may or may not be new) to meet "as new" specifications. Refurbished machines have seen some prior use, or when someone has changed their mind and returned their machine after slight use.

How long are refurbished Dyson machines guaranteed for?

Refurbished Dyson machines are stripped, cleaned, rebuilt and tested by Dyson engineers to "as new" specifications. Every refurbished machine bought from Dyson comes with a 1 year Dyson guarantee that reflects the thoroughness of the refurbishment process.

What happens when my Dyson guarantee runs out?

Dyson do not design products to last for a short time. We want our machines to keep working as long as possible - for the length of the guarantee and beyond. If you have problems with your machine after the Dyson guarantee has run out and you'd like to give yours a new lease of life, you can book a service by contacting the Dyson Helpline.

We have service agents located throughout Australia. Please call for your nearest Dyson approved service centre. The expiry of the Dyson Guarantee does not affect any consumer guarantee rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Where can I buy genuine Dyson spares and accessories?

Dyson spares and accessories are developed by the same engineers who develop Dyson machines, using the same materials. You'll find a full range of Dyson spares and replacement parts for all Dyson machines at Dyson spare parts. Accessories are at Dyson accessories. You can also order via the customer service helpline on 1800 239 766.

Please remember that the Dyson Guarantee will not apply to any use of non-Dyson spare parts.

What if I use non-genuine Dyson spares or a non-Dyson approved service engineer?

The Dyson guarantee will not apply to any use of non-genuine Dyson spare parts and/or a non-Dyson approved service engineer. Dyson engineers will always use genuine spares.

How will my guarantee be affected if I move abroad?

The guarantee provided is applicable to the country in which the product was purchased. If the product is taken abroad the guarantee may not apply outside of the country of purchase. However, we will always endeavour to assist you in your new country of residence. For advice please call our customer service helpline on 1800 239 766.
